Share a story
Anyone may share the story of a New York apple tree. A complete history is wonderful, but it is not required.
Fields marked * are required.
You may choose photos together or add them one at a time. JPG, PNG, or WebP; no more than 8 MB each. Photographs are subject to review before publication.
The Heritage Apple Project currently documents New York trees. Anyone may submit, regardless of where they live.
Use your phone while beside the tree, or enter known coordinates in decimal degrees. Use a minus sign for west longitude. Keep directions and landmarks in the description above.
Sharing a tree story does not automatically make its story, photographs, or location public. Choose what you would be comfortable sharing if the tree is later accepted into the public catalog.
No account is required. We will email a receipt with your HAP reference number.
